About the role
We are seeking a highly-motivated and experienced publishing professional to help us to drive forward our borne-digital book programme. You will identify new market opportunities and key figures in Materials and Condensed Matter to commission, contract, develop and then see through to publication new ebook titles. Working closely with colleagues in production, marketing and sales you will be accountable for the overall success of your program; networking, both internally and externally to build and maintain excellent working relationships. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience acquiring authors or content, and a track record of achieving targets.

About you:
You should have:
•    A degree
•    Significant experience acquiring Scientific, Technical and Medical book and reference content
•    In-depth knowledge of the market and industry, especially e-publishing
•    Thorough grasp of the economics of book publishing
•    A strategic, results-orientated focus to drive the business forward
•    Proven ability to manage publishing products from initiation through to launch
•    Exemplary interpersonal skills
•    Focus on maintaining a strong client/customer relationship
•    Willingness to travel: regular national and international travel will include conferences, seminars and campus visits

You should have:
•    A first (BSc or BA) or second degree (PhD or MSc) in a scientific subject
•    Proven experience in working with Publishing partners.
