Job Advert Description

Reporting to the Publishing Director, you’ll be a key member of the publishing senior management team responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership of the ebooks and conference proceedings business.

Through your extensive experience, you will lead the teams in all commissioning activities to meet the overall targets for our ebooks and IOP Conference Series programmes. A strategic thinker, you’ll be responsible for driving growth through new products, partners and projects using key market analysis and by developing strong working relationships with our authors, editors and partners.

A strong leader with the ability to build and motivate effective teams, you’ll mentor and develop your team to maximise growth and performance. With exceptional interpersonal skills, you’ll excel at interacting with, and influencing critical stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.

About you:

Applicants should demonstrate:
•    Significant global experience in STM publishing and digital book publishing
•    Extensive experience of people management and leading and motivating teams
•    Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills
•    First class interpersonal, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
•    A qualification in the Physical Sciences (MSc or PhD) is ideal but not essential
