This is a highly customer facing role, both to our colleagues, key suppliers and individuals who receive the payments. As part of this role you will be responsible for ensuring that all processes are completed on time, accurately and in accordance with policy. In addition to the routine processes in the role, you will be required to respond to other business requests as they come up.

As part of this role, you will work as part of the team in championing these processes to customers of Finance.  The Finance team supports the IOP Group which requires you to differentiate between the activities of the Institute of Physics and IOP Publishing and deliver a service tailored to each of these entities needs, while maintaining and developing standard finance policy and procedure.

The ideal candidate will possess the following;

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of maintaining accurate records and systems
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Passion for customer service
  • Ability to challenge processes and identify improvements
  • Knowledge of finance software and Excel
