Job Advert Description

We are looking for an exceptional talent to lead our newly established central provision of marketing communications focussed on improving IOP Publishing’s brand reputation as well as achieving better communication and employee engagement throughout the organisation. Key to the role, will be the responsibility for the companywide internal and external communications strategy, tone of voice, including brand development and brand management. You will need to engage a diverse and informed stakeholder community and provide advice and counsel to senior colleagues on strategic communication issues.  

In addition, you will also have leadership and operational management capability to inspire a team and contribute to the broad strategic direction of IOP Publishing.

The ideal candidate will

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Ideally have a qualification in the marketing and communications area i.e. MSC/CIM

They will also have:

  • Proven track record in leading marketing communications, in a global digital environment, preferably, but not necessarily within the STM industry 
  • Several years’ experience of people management, leading and motivating high performance teams in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to present effectively to wide audiences and win support for new business ideas
  • Evidence of effective stakeholder management across multiple functions and/or communities
